Asmaa Gharib is a researcher, cultural practitioner, and project manager. Born in Ismailia, Egypt, she graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Mass Communication, in 2009. She studied humanities and social sciences at the Cairo Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CILAS). With years of experience in developing and managing cultural and gender-based projects, Asmaa has served as a cultural manager for the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Goethe-Institut. She later held the position of Programme Officer for the MENA region at Musawah Global Movement. Currently, she works as a Programme Coordinator at the Network of Arab Alternative Screens (NAAS).
Asmaa is also pursuing her master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies at the Free University of Berlin. Her work intersects areas such as cultural engagement, gender issues, oral history, and film studies.
